FORD RACING PUMA SPECIFIC PARTS
Parts that are specific to the Ford Racing Puma are all given '909' or '908' part numbers so not to be confused with standard Ford finis part numbers. The '909' and '908' numbers are also used for Ford Motorsport parts.
When Ford closed 'Ford Racing' much of the parts stock was either skipped or sold off so some parts for the FRP are difficult to obtain whilst others are now none existent. As a group we do have certain parts in stock from when Ford originally sold off the Ford Racing parts stock we are also looking into re-manufacturing certain parts through the OE manufacturers.
Parts which are available (either Ford NOS or new remanufactured parts) are listed in our Parts Store

The RPJ damper unlike the standard Eibach are also serviceable allowing them to be re-gased and have new sealed fitted.
9097933 Foam Bumper Seal
The foam bumper seals were used to help fill the small gap between the front bumper and wings and the rear bumper and rear quarter panels. The foam strips had an adhesive backing to secure it in place. Racing Pumas are often seen without the foam bumper seals fitted as they are often not replaced after bodywork or an accident resulting the in the bumpers being removed.
9087849 Alcon Front Brake Pads
The Alcon brake pads supplied with the Ford Racing Puma were originally made by Mintex, it is not known exactly what compound was used but owners now use Mintex M1144 pads and have them machined down to fit the caliper. It is thought the pads were supplied to Ford Racing already machined to fit when they were originally specified. Ford Racing received high levels of complaints regarding brake squeal which was later resolved by adding a thin 3M backed shim to the back of the brake pads.
9097941 Rear Track Spacer Bolt - M10 x 50mm Grade 10.9
The inclusion of the 20mm rear axle spacers on the Ford Racing Puma meant extended bolts were required. These were the same M10 thread and 10.9 grade material but were 50mm in length to allow for the additional 20mm spacer to be secured.
9087821 Rear Quarter Panel Trim Panel - Right Hand
To match the Sparco racing front seats the interior door cards were recovered in a matching blue Alcantara material. 9098792 Rear Brake Hose Kit - Post-recall
The rear brake lines are specific to the Racing Puma. Originally the rear flexible brake line was one single piece but it was found that it rubbed on the rear axle subframe and could cause a leak. Ford Racing issued a recall on all cars and changed the flexible rear brake lines to a part flexi - part rigid pipe that kept the brake lines away from the rear axle thus solving the problem. Not all Ford Racing Pumas received the rear brake line recall work.
1011582 Rear ABS Loom (Standard Ford Part)
The wider rear tracking used on the Racing Puma meant a longer ABS sensor loom was required. A quick rummage in the parts bin found the Ford Escort MKII Estate (1995-1999) rear loom was the desired length and was used on the FRP.
